New Zealand-based Invert Robotics showed me the most unique robot of all. It uses “passive suction” — basically, tons of tiny suction cups — to drive on any smooth surface.
It can inspect the inside of reaction vessels and pharmaceutical plants, or the cooking vessels in a brewery.
It can even drive upside down on the bottom of an airplane to look for delamination of its carbon fiber body.
