In fact things are going to continue to change rapidly. Our animal instincts will never be correct again. We need reason and ideology.

This is why a lot of people claim we "need" religion. They are tacitly acknowledging instinct doesn't work. And to that extent I agree, but we don't need to base our ideology on lies about supernatural beings that don't exist.
