i also have this problem but i've positively correlated it to a plant protein allergy, mainly gluten, i also get dermatitis herpeteformis along with it
salbutamol (ventolin) is utter shit, if you need to use it more than two days in a row you need to consider trying other ways to stop the allergic reaction because it starts to *cause* the asthma after about 3 days using it 3-4 times a day
salmeterol is much more effective, it usually only takes one or two doses a day to stop the symptoms but again, if it's a food allergy or other chemical allergy, or dirty air in your house, there are better ways to deal with it, salmeterol is expensive, when i got it in Bosnia it cost me about 25 euros, iirc, but it was sufficient to last me almost 2 motnhs
oh yeah, i should also add, it's not only gluten now though, the skin problem is associated specifically with the gluten allergy but i also get quite intense reactions from food containing soy, i think mostly it's the oils that are the big problem, and eggs that have been fed on soy are a huge problem, after about a week of eating such eggs i get asthma and all kinds of other horrible symptoms from it, and it takes about 3 days for it to fully stop
with the amount of things that are increasingly contaminated with soy these days it's probably becoming the least easy to avoid allergen in european food supply
i hope you find better ways than this expensive horrible drug
none of them work well in the long term, salbutamol, salmeterol, theophylline, chlorpyramine, the food is the real problem, and the root of the problem is the fucking EUSSR
