Why I love what I love about Nostr
Nostr is fantastic in its own way
Nostr, to me, is a paradigm shift. It has stripped away all the unessential bloat about identity management and “stuff” about social aspects fo social networking, leaving in the most essential aspect of social networking: you write and post to the world, then wait to be heard, reacted on, write some more, send you reactions, and contribute. The read/write/react/respond loop that makes most sense. In the backdrop, you have servers (relays
) do the magic.
So I can follow individuals and “bots”, but that would not mater if I do not have the right mix of relays where they post as well (of course that may not be a big deal in most cases as most clients will have a list of public relays that most people will post to, but not always).
This mix of relays and clients has opened up unprecedented ways of using Nostr beyond social networking, including building personalised curated lists of shareable sites and posts that go beyond anything possible with either RSS clients, or email lists or even traditional social networking apps.
