The original inspiration for The Secret of Eln-Ketaar was the real life of a relative who had a medical condition (probably cerebral palsy) that was handled very poorly, including isolation from family.
The story was not meant to be a feminist work, but looking at how it turned out I wouldn't blame a reader for thinking so.
I donate half of my profits from it toward cerebral palsy research and patient care, because the original inspiration is what matters to me.
