My online geology wanderings have taken me in unexpected directions. Via the Youtube channel of the enthusiastic Nick Zentner I've been revisiting the wonders of WA, USA (we lived in Seattle for a while). The latest discovery is the website of Dan Coe, a cartographer with the Washington Geological Survey, which has the most exquisite lidar-based maps and graphics. Science meets art meets data visualisation and communication.
