I just realized that I don't enjoy TV series as much as I did because I now go "Ah, you needed to insert that scene because you needed X there" and it is like an inner monologue that I can't switch off. I don't get as immersed as I used to.
It works a bit better in books and I wonder if that is because I read books that are written better than your average TV drama.
