Tom's been growing alpine strawberries (the tiny little intensely flavored "wild" strawberries that the French call fraise du bois) and usually he'll get a couple in a day, if he gets any at all, but today a dozen were all ripe at once. And that's getting to be enough for a dessert. And we have leftover maple fudge buttercream. So I'm gonna make a quick little sponge cake and layer it with maple fudge buttercream and top it with alpine strawberries.
