No, guys, they have not achieved "net energy gain" (https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2023/aug/06/us-scientists-achieve-net-energy-gain-second-time-fusion-reaction) because you're only counting the energy IN the laser, not the energy it takes to FIRE the laser, which is hundreds, maybe thousands of times more.
It's misleading and irresponsible to let people think we're anywhere near break-even in fusion.
