I did a bit on 144 MHz AM, but not partaken of inane talking to folks on the air since 1974 or so. Apart from when there's fantastic rainscatter on 10 GHz, then we have splendid group natters on NBFM while marvelling at how Rayleigh and Mie scattering lets five or so microwavers talk to each other via one decent thunderstorm. Sort of like a wet repeater or a gigantic stationary airplane at 50,000 ft
