I fell for the ‘boomer job advice’ meme, believed all the talk about “work in a factory, they’ll see how bright and how hard of a worker you are, and soon you’ll get promoted”. Realized it was all bullshit, and doubled my salary working for a job they cried ‘would never pay well’. They (usually) mean well with their ‘advice’, but are so hopelessly out of touch it might as well be a list on how to fuck up your life as quickly as possible.
