The problem is one of copyright. Most of the interesting software is either public domain or freeware. No problem. The shitassed company who owns WordStar would rather burn the word than let anything go, but fuck them. The real bitch is the OS itself. There have been several implementations of the Z-System, but I have been unable to locate one which both includes source code and is under friendly license terms.
I mean, I imagine if he’s alive (unknown to me!) and someone asked him respectfully, Jay Sage might be willing to relicense Z3Plus and release the source, but that’s not something I can really do. ZPM3 is tricky because it never had an official source code release (it was disassembled and documented in the 90s), and Simeon Cran, if he’s alive at all, has no interest in talking to anyone about that stuff.
