I suggest you read Melzer's long-form interview, and his book. There's certainly a lot pointing to police misconduct, forgery, and what could be best described as a "stitch-up."

Does that entitle me to a definitive parti pris on the matter? Not particularly. Does it entitle you to a definitive parti pris to the contrary? I don't think so.

And to cut to the chase, the veracity of the claims from Sweden has nothing to do with what the US was trying to haul him up for. Nada.
