When I was quite young, I'd say "bless me" every time I sneezed.
"Why do you do that?" a friend asked one day. "I should say 'Bless you'."
I'd heard it from my mum. Realising that made me kinda sad. I think it was the first time I'd realised that my parents didn't love each other, and barely ever spoke to each other, not even when they sneezed.
