It should be noted that the second round of French elections have the highest turnout in forty years. The polar opposite of Britain where disillusionment reigns. For those unfamiliar, it goes to the second round if no party nails 50% in the first round.

So the majority are thankfully more left or centrist than fascist when actually motivated to vote.
