"content": "Apollo 13 didn't land but its Saturn upper stage did reach the Moon. It was directed to impact in order to create a seismic signal for the Apollo 12 seismometer. Ewen Whitaker (University of Arizona) noted that other artificial impact craters (Ranger and other Apollo upper stages) appeared as dark spots in Apollo 16 panoramic camera images. He looked for Apollo 13's upper stage impact and found it in Apollo 14 images.
