It deals with trauma and how war affects people. The war scenes are not especially realistic but that’s not really the point. The people and their PTSD is the point.

There is a slight tinge of Chinese (cultural) imperialism or propaganda, but not a lot.

The attraction is Chen Zheyuan’s acting and the realism of the romance between broken people. There is a high level of emotional intelligence in this drama.
