Spruce has spent the night recovering from her surgery in my bedroom, getting scared when I fell asleep that I couldn’t protect us, as she’s a light sleeper she usually sleeps at my feet and takes on that role.

So every time I fell asleep she’d cry until I woke up, and it’s paid off as we made it through the night unmolested by predators.
