One of the Tories' stories about work was that it didn't matter too much about the incidence of insecure work, because these jobs were how to build experience to then transit into secure employment.
That *may* be true for around half of workers, but just under half of workers in insecure work remain in precarious jobs after four years, with more likelihood of becoming involuntarily unemployed & subject to zero hour contracts.
