Q. is the rise of Donald Trump linked to the decline of shame in US politics?
If so what does it tell us about American society, or perhaps more widely, contemporary mores?
If the accusation of having no 'decency' has lost its power, and people are happy to ignore accusations of impropriety, have we moved back to a social world in which individual power (and wealth) are the primary yardsticks by which we measure the acceptability of behaviour?
