Bragging rights.
Which I kinda get, I mean vanity IS a thing. And people seem to have remarkably little imagination when it comes to thinking up "impressive and cool things to do".
But what I really don't get is the people who "climb" Mt. Everest, but are sufficiently disabled that they in fact have to be partially or wholly carried/pulled/pushed by other people.
That would be like me with my fear of heights and utter lack of sufficient athleticism insisting I have to get to "climb" K2 by being flown over the steep bits in a helicopter.
Not every place is for everyone. Things like mountain ranges and jungles are not "accessible" or "inclusive" environments, and nobody should demand that they be turned into such.
