Partly his answer is that the party is just not particularly effective, but he also make another interesting point:
the most successful European Right Populist parties actually marry a Right/Populist approach to social issues, with a Left-like approach to economics.
A party offering that sort of policy mix in the UK (Reform or another) would likely garner wider support!
