i do not yet have a clear position on the potential connection of the fediverse to the dorsey or zuckerberg systems.
what i am a little bit firmer on is my distrust of gargron. he has only ever postured as a small-time version of the big boys.
to my knowledge, he has never once done anything inconsistent with the preparation of mastodon into a commercial product.
perhaps gargron has signed an NDA with zuckerberg, perhaps he has not. but it all seems too convenient.
what gargron needs to do in order to earn the trust of the fediverse is to stop trying to save face with the establishment. somewhat paradoxically, if he wants to be a great hero to the fediverse, i think he needs to destroy any chance of co-operation with zuckerberg and dorsey.
he needs to deliberately begin 'losing' in order to win. he needs to prove to us that he's not just selling all of this off for the purpose of conventional power and wealth.
perhaps it is not yet up to us to know what to do, it is up to gargron, for now. my gut feeling is that i should not hold my breath.
