Furthermore, people don't voluntarily choose to work for wages on such unfavorable terms. Here in Los Angeles, and probably everywhere else, working people -- people who aren't in the ruling class -- are required to have money to pay for taxes, rent, and other requirements. This situation also isn't natural. Again, it's the result of a complex web of laws that practically force people to work for employers in exchange for money in order to live. No one is allowed to live on open land and avoid paying a landlord or a bank for their housing. No one is allowed to raise their own food or, for the most part, run a business out of their residence. There are some exceptions at the margins, but for the most part, the City of Los Angeles and other overlapping governments have passed laws that in effect force people to work for employers. These laws are enforced by police violence, also provided by the City of LA. The City does this because commercial property owners and capitalist employers have the power to create the laws they need to facilitate their exploitation. Without this setup Autozone wouldn't be able to operate its business here.
