We’re all in on #nostr. What we just posted to twitter/x
"...
We will continue to use and support the nostr protocol and spend less and less time here on twitter.
The ethos of nostr is similar to that of bitcoin: decentralized, permissionless, censorship resistant. And while social media is just one function of many that can be built on top of nostr, it's already making incredible strides through clients like damus (npub18m7…q955) Primal.
Traditional social media is broken (would encourage you to check out
Max DeMarco (npub1lel…kvyz)'s docomunetary on this: https://youtube.com/watch?v=aA-jiiepOrE&t=629s). It is harder and harder to justify utilizing an app like twitter/X that is slowly moving towards an everything app using you, the user, to data farm and harvest personal information from everyone, while also encouraging and amplifying extreme content to fan the flames of hatred and division that have polarized so many in our world so folks may get more clicks and ad revenue. We don't wish to perpetuate this norm.
So with that, we will continue to post pod updates, episodes etc here and across most social media platforms as we want our content to be easily accessible to everyone, regardless of their journey into bitcoin or the latest in decentralized social media.
But we will continue to encourage folks to join us on nostr, setup their own nostr profile (checkout http://nostr.how or http://nostr.com for great how-to guides) and be more active there, with exclusive content and updates. The great thing is you can access all of our nostr content even if you don't have an account via several clients, including primal here: https://primal.net/p/npub1fpcd25q2zg09rp65fglxuhp0acws5qlphpg88un7mdcskygdvgyqfv4sld
Remember, via nostr YOU control your content and don't have to worry about a centralized party, person, government, or corporation interfering or censoring you. If you're a human rights activist, political protestor, in exile, under authoritarian rule, nostr is a protocol for you. If you're a content creator and worried what you're saying may be banned or shadow-banned by Elon? Nostr is for you. Nostr is for everyone.
