Two thoughts on the flood of slop bug reports to FOSS, both are not good.
1. People are using AI to pad their CV with "contributions" to open source projects.
The alternative is equally bad.
2. Slop generates pressure on developers, to be leveraged maliciously (think xz).
I see no other reasons why people would all of the sudden take interest in contributing, where there was none.
