npub1lf4jwaagywsxc94fjjn9v4lj68j7kgdctjzqg84aydq565lw630srxkcjr (npub1lf4…kcjr) I think the real issue is #OSINT accounts should not really ever be considered as particularly reliable sources in general. People looking at them should really understand that first. While the good ones attempt to filter out the fakes best they can at the time I doubt you could find any such account that has not occasionally posted information that turned out to be false.

That said there’s certainly still different levels of trustworthiness when it comes to them ranging from straight up propaganda from one side of a conflict to the good ones that will both correct themselves and mention it when something looks particularly sketchy. I think the sentdefender account for example has been somewhat unfairly singled out just because Elon Musk mentioned it even though isn’t really one of the clearly bad ones.

Elon of course seems to think there’s no value in the work journalists do so he has advocated using OSINT and other accounts that report on event real-time in exactly the wrong way, as a reliable replacement for news media.
