Yeah, Word's "Editor" misses things like incorrect verb tenses.
It skipped right over "he'd came" as if all were well.
That is correctly written "he'd come," Word. Check yaself before ya wreck yaself. Or someone else.
Note: If this were in dialogue, I might well stet it *if* it was right for the speaker's characterization. But in narrative? Nope. (Not unless the narrator is established as a user of nonstandard English.)
