Not really when you consider why the US government really wants to ban TikTok and censor X. They all are major data hubs with AI plays.
As someone that hosts their own server I know how valuable storage can be. I constantly have to decide what is good data and bad data. Especially if I was training an AI.
Google conveniently doubled their cloud hosting fees right as Elon bought Twitter. That forced him to take action and do something about the bots taking up all of his storage space. Imagine how much money he saved when he purged all of those bots. That's clean storage for new data that he controls. Data to feed to his new LLM.
