Why is anybody surprised that GitHub (owned by Microsoft) is trying to foist CoPilot (owned by Microsoft) on users?
If you work in Free or Open Source Software, Microsoft are not your friend. They are anathema to everything for which we stand. This is just the latest version of embrace and extend that they've been running since the 1990s.
Take it from those of us who still bear thirty+ year old scars and avoid them like the plague.
