I’m curious to know people’s experiences with masculine sports and intense workouts, does it relax you or make you more intense?
Ive been very quick to get excited in good ways and not fun ways. An inspiration will make me feel thunder and lightning in my body then crash like it was a sugar high, and when I see something upsetting I’ll feel the rage of Spanish bull… and I would like to calm down.
I have been a yoga instructor and I take baths every day, and take meditative pauses to be present with my beautiful family. I still get these moments where I feel like a muscle car on neutral revving its engine… I am curious what leaning into “yang” energy can do (kickboxing & power walks), and I hope it serves as an outlet for this fire in me!
I think it’s been building up from being inward throughout pregnancy and then blended with the cabin fever of early postpartum. I am proud to have soaked up all the contact naps and still had a great time in my last university classes. We even got to go on family hikes in November, but making time to drive forward into unknown forest trails without a stroller is a unique experience I’m glad to have re-activated into my lifestyle!
