I have a whole thing in my head about the constant assertion that “safety” is somehow a baseline, a prerequisite for healthy living, or intimacy.
Certainly there are forms of danger that are morally unacceptable intentional abuse or neglect
But I’m pretty sure the generalized “safety” that most people think they need for happiness or intimacy has always been an illusion.
