It is really amazing how often "I have too much of this specific thing in my timeline" can be cured by identifying one or two people who are currently boosting "too much" of that thing for your taste and hiding boosts from them.
I like it better than blocking people or keywords, because it doesn't mute anybody's original opinions or keep super-important stuff on that topic from filtering into my feeds from other sources.
