I think it's very funny that people in the UK seem to think the UK and US have a "special relationship" - a term that is used very frequently in media coverage when talking about the two countries.

However, when I hear American media talk about the two countries, that phrase never comes up. And in cross-Atlantic coverage where a UK reporter mentions the "special relationship" the US reporters just look confused.

Maybe it's special because it's unrequited love?
