i used to get annoyed at signoffs of the form "I have been Tom Scott, see you next time!". because "have been" is perfective, so it means you're no longer Tom Scott. it doesn't make sense!
i have decided to imagine they're plural and another headmate with a different name has switched in and now it makes sense!
