It's not encrypted. And even if it was, they could find ways to extract the data to whomever in the CCP wants it before it even hits the servers. It's the same as a backdoor in operating systems, as Apple is trying to do. It shouldn't be allowed here and it shouldn't be allowed for foreign powers. It definitely shouldn't be allowed for foreign powers.
