there is a certain kind of "WELL ACKSHUALLY" mind that takes delight in showing off some sort of clarification, regardless of whether or not the clarification is useful
it's performative, it's almost like a form of trolling: "i don't have to entertain other points of view or genuine knowledge on the subject, that i feel leads to something i don't like, if i can interrupt and loudly bark this exciting, mind blowing clarification that proves i'm already knowledgeable"
