We had a 5 hour power outage today due to an accident on ice roads that took out a huge section of power lines. Of course it happened just before I put bread in the oven. I ended up putting the rising loaves out on the veranda to try to slow down the rise. It kind of worked. Started the bread around noon. Got them out of the oven at 9:30 pm. But there is definitely something going on with my oven, lately the bread is not browning on the bottom. Sigh. I either have a bunch of disgruntled fae hanging around (or my stuff is getting old) Hot water tank broke in Oct. MASSIVE bill to fix. Car broke a week ago, still broken. Washing machine broke the next day (and flooded basement for good measure) New one on order. Now the oven. And wow the fridge was making funny noises when the power came back on tonight... 😬
