For me, it was a moral dilemma and still is. My dad who was in the German occupation convinced me that the army was a very dumb organization and I would find a way out. He was right on both counts. I never left the country but that required a lot of scrambling and ultimate the intervention of a higher power - my opinion. I gave it a lot to work with but ultimately, it wasnt me.
