The kingdom of Buganda is believed to have started in between 14th and 15th centuries after break up from larger Chwezi empire.
The kingdom started expansions at the middle of 16th century, conquering neighbouring cheifdoms and parts of Bunyoro Kingdom.
The present day #Uganda's name is derived from Buganda kingdom.
