npub1srv743phgkjg9k7den5tycaewlpr7zm4mff0pyylnslxgeyynm7sva45z0 (npub1srv…45z0) TBH, I was late in understanding (& agreeing with) therationale for paying athletes so highly. I was poor & not into sports as a kid, so it all seemed wildly unfair & arbitrary.
It took a while before I clued into a) the line between sports & the sports industry & b) the truly narrow window in which professional athletes can eat what may be all the money they’re ever going to get.
I still have some issues with professional sports, but not with the athletes.
