There is nothing quite like a research proposal to drain my mind of all coherence. I have been working on this sucker for days and so far I have 160 words, most of them outline, and just keep muttering “I cannot just make a list of theorists I want to use and scenes from Terence/Menander that I want to compare to Plautus, that is NOT A PROPOSAL.”
