5 years ago today, Dr. Li Wenliang warned colleagues that people in Wuhan had been diagnosed with coronavirus. A screenshot went viral, and Wuhan police summoned and admonished him on 3 January for "making false comments on the Internet about unconfirmed SARS outbreak." Li returned to work and contracted COVID-19, dying just a month later at age 34.
We've ignored accurate warnings from the very beginning, and we continue to do so today. Take #COVID19 reinfections seriously in 2025, please.
