I don't believe at all that it could be organic. 7x more transactions but no increase of activity on any social media, no country with currency destabilization that switches to Monero, no new mainstream store accepting XMR, etc, I don't think it could be anything than a government or competitor trying to harm it.
I mean, 85% of transactions are presumably from an hostile entity. I don't know the technology they're using to potentially deanonymize transactions, but I wouldn't be confident using for very illegal things right now.
