If you’re the playful/creative type, a fun game to play is to imagine any quotidian task as if it were a performance on which you were being judged — like an Olympic sport.
Now you approach the kitchen sink, pick up the sponge, lightly clean the plate and place it into the dishwasher. Perform each movement skillfully with balance, grace, and efficiency of action. Link your breath to different motions, but do so subtly, without making it look weird, so no one could notice that you’re going for the gold medal in dishwashing.
Alternatively, for a more Stoic approach, imagine this is the last time you will ever wash dishes (or whatever task). So appreciate all the many times you’ve done it before and this will be the last time you do it, because, who knows, momento morí, it might be...
