Of course. Just look at Australia’s energy policy- a masterclass in poor planning driven by political pandering. It seems focus groups fixated on “saving the environment” are steering the ship, but where’s the strategy to balance sustainability with being a productive, innovative nation? I.e. have a robust and complex economy.
Sure, we all want to protect the planet—but not at the cost of destroying our competitiveness and ingenuity.
Relying on solar and wind alone is foolish without a reliable baseload energy source.
With no real plan for nuclear or gas, and insufficient hydro capacity, we’re committing to a $3 trillion energy grid overhaul that will deliver the most expensive and unreliable electricity on earth.
Instead of fostering invention and problem-solving, we’re stuck with ideological moves made by a pack of halfwits and lemmings that makes our country less productive, less innovative, and far from a leader in tackling real-world challenges.
