When I was struggling, it was usually at the start of the month, that I was strapped for cash. I'd save up all my paychecks, only to have dues. It eventually flipped, and like yourself, I would end up broke at the end of the month.

These days, I'm not struggling, but I am nowhere near where I want to be. I suppose that is true for most people these days.

But even when I was making good money, something always seemed to come up around Thanksgiving / Black Friday.
