#chickens #poultry #Scotland #winter I see loads of posts about chickens and if they need winter heat or protection from cold and always the replies are nope they are hardy ,yet nobody ever asks where the person lives,the chickens age or size or if they are moulting.Yes big adults can survive ,but poorly feathered ones moulting ,or young chickes,frizzle feathered cant its like being out without a coat on.Tiny bantams lack the body mass and older ones get stressed and are less likely to survive
