You can find your ebooks in your Amazon account in "content library". Select "more actions", then "Download and Transfer via USB". You'll have to select a registered Kindle device - but a Kindle DOES NOT have to be connected in via USB. It only needs to be registered to your account. You can still download files directly to your hard drive (until February 26th).
