I've learned more since graduating college than I did through all of my years of formal education. I've also unlearned some of the lies I learned in my formal education.

I've read studies that suggest that most people never read a whole book after graduating from school. I just can't fathom that. How boring their lives must be. How static must their understanding of the world be.

I was having a conversation with my Mom and she replied to one of my comments that what I said couldn't be true because she'd never heard it before. I replied that if she wouldn't consider anything she'd never heard before, then she would never learn anything new ever again. As someone who was a teacher when she was young (before me), that really got her attention.
